To Rune, I can't answer your question about that outtake, but wonder right along with you about where it could have possibly come from. Thanks for posting it, though! Sorry about the link craziness. For some odd reason, this site likes to add random spacing in words or links. I'm not sure what to do to fix it. To answer your other question, yes, Richard was working on another solo album before his passing. It was to be an instrumental album and I do believe he even had several tracks recorded before his passing. I will try and find articles about it for you. I just hope one day, what he had recorded, will be released. I was, and still am, very eager to hear his latest compositions!

Hello everyone, and thanks to all who have joined us recently, or not so recently. Our apologies for our lack of existence lately. To Ken, please don't apologize for not posting in a while... look at us! We're just happy to hear from you and to know you still visit the site. It is a very coincidental start date for Roger's tour - definitely makes you wonder. I don't see the same visual on Roger's site as you you do, but that's just me, of course. I do wonder, though, if anyone else might see that. To Wet China (love the name), thank you so much for the kind words and for joining us! We are happy to have you here with us!

Hi again. Here is my other question. It's about the rumour that Rick was working in his studio before he passed away. I'm sure everybode is familiar with it. But can anybody here really confirm that he actually was recording material for a new album? Or is that just nothing but a rumour? Any information on that subject would also be of great interest. Especially how far he had gone in the work. Can we expect any postume releases in the future? Questions, questions, questions. The Swedish Pink Floyd forum Flying Pigs Of Sweden seems to have ended up in a dead end on that subject so any kind of enlightment would be very appreciated. Anything, just anything. Most kindly / Rune from Stockholm, Sweden

Hi Liz, Sarah and everyone else here at this great fansite. I have two questions but will split it up in two messages since it seemed to be to long to post otherwise. First, resently I came across a demo, or outtake, from one of my favourite songs from The Division Bell, "Wearing The Inside Out". On this rough recording David and Rick is more or less just jamming or improvising the instrumental part of the song. But my question is: Who is leaking this kind of unfinished material? I'm sure it does'nt have Davids approval. Any information on this outtake would be of interest. Here is the link: http://www.audio.am/music/wearing-the-i ... d3199.html Most kindly / Rune

Hi Liz & Sarah, Sorry for not posting for such a long time. I felt obliged to advise you of what appears to some kind of subliminal tribute to Rick by Roger Waters(or perhaps I'm just being Off the Wall. It may just be a co-incidence but his forthcoming tour commences on the 3rd anniversary of Rick's sad passing. Also, on Roger's website 'Tour' page, in the top right-hand corner, there appears to be an 'image' of Rick looking across at the dates. Not only that but there also appears to be another image which resmbles Syd and beneath him an Owl in flight. Take a look and see if you agree. I'll get back to my medication now...

It don't take long to buy nylon socks, but it takes a certain amount of true dedication to produce something as fine as this site! Thank you Liz!

On yet another birthday of Richard's, we almost can't continue to say enough kind words about him. We only wish to continue to honor him and dedicate this special day by playing the music that he created, or helped create, and shared with all of us throughout so many years. To start, we think 'Echoes' may be a good kickoff to our appreciation and love for Richard. And with that, we simply say Happy Birthday to you, Richard! You are always loved, always cherished by so many! Liz and Sarah P.S. What song, or songs, will you play to honor Richard on his birthday?

A year ago today, the world received the tragic and terribly saddening news of Richard's passing. We lost one of the truly great artists, a fine gentleman, who many have embraced throughout the years as someone more than just a favored musician. He was a companion, a friend, and even a loved one. We would like to take this day to remember Richard in all of his finest ways. We will remember all of the great gifts and talents he shared with us, how many times he brought joy and happiness to our hearts not only through song, but through his personality as well. He may have been quiet and reserved for so many years, but his personality shone through, bright, radiant, and full of passion, and it brought smiles and happiness to us for so many years, and to many others as well. As a tribute, Liz has created this beautiful and touching video in honor of Richard and we invite everyone to watch... and to remember... Thank you, Richard. We miss you, and we always will, but you will never be forgotten. With great love... Liz and Sarah

You will live on forever in the hearts of your fans and loved ones! Happy birthday dear Richard.

Hello everyone!
Sadly it's been a long time since we've been able to post anything new, but finally we have added a couple of new things to the site.
First, new downloads are available under the 'Miscellaneous' section. These downloads include an interview with Storm Thorgerson from Record Collector's June 2009 issue. Article/Interviewer by Jonathan Wingate. It's a very good read for those who are interested.
Second, new content has been added to the 'All About Rick' section. There's a subsection containing a list of Richard's favorite LP's. The list was published in a 1968 issue of International Times. A link to International Times has been provided as well. Many thanks to Julian for passing the list on!
Cheers! Liz and Sarah

Hello Wrightians/Floydians! We just wanted to pass the word along that Neptune Pink Floyd is holding a survey on Pink Floyd. It doesn't take long at all and it's pretty fun. Once they've received over a thousand completed surveys, they will send results via NPF newsletter, so don't forget to sign up for that as well. Here is the link: NPF SurveyEnjoy! Liz & Sarah

Greetings all!
Our friends in Hungary have passed along an announcement that three of Hungary's greatest Pink Floyd tribute bands will be performing a memorial concert on the 14th of November in honor of Richard Wright. Bands performing are HitRock, Echoes of Pink Floyd, and Marooned. The show will start at 19:00 (CET) and is being performed at the Táncsics Mihály Cultural Centre in Soroksár, Hungary.
Please come out and join them to help commemorate Richard. This show will be one for the books!

Well, after a nearly month long hiatus, we are back up and running and are very glad for it. It's quite certain everyone knows the tragic news by now, but we are definitely going to keep running the site and adding all we can to it to honor Richard's memory.
We will try to keep everyone up to date on any new and upcoming news or events from here on. We apologize for any inconveniences.

Extracted from http://www.davidgilmour.com/ At the Q Magazine Awards in London, David was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award, which he dedicated to Richard Wright in a speech that conjured a strong emotional response. David said: "I'm going to dedicate this to my old friend and colleague Richard Wright, who died a couple of weeks ago, and with whom I worked for 40-odd years. There's all sorts of music I won't be able to play without him, which is a source of great sadness for me. One of the last things he wanted to do was play a big outdoor festival such as Glastonbury which we were unable to do, which is also a sadness. He deserves this just as much as I do; you could say that he worked in the position of second fiddle to the pushier chaps at the front, but his work was vitally important to our entire career". He then proposed a toast to Richard and the entire audience stood and raised their glasses in support and tribute.

From BBC-Radio 2: Following the recent death of Richard Wright, Radio 2 presents the story of his days in Pink Floyd, told entirely in Richard's own voice. Drawing from BBC archive and an exclusive interview conducted by producer Mark Hagen in September 2007, the last radio interview that Wright gave, Richard offers his unique and now sadly poignant perspective on 40 years as a member of one of the world's all time great rock bands. Music, all composed by Richard, includes Remember A Day, Us & Them, The Great Gig in the Sky, Sysyphus, Echoes, Wearing The Inside Out and Shine On You Crazy Diamond. As dedicated fans, we would like to promote Richard's enchanting solo album, Broken China. Unfortunately we can't sell his album directly from our site, but we'd like to provide a link to Amazon at the very least:
Gdańsk, Poland was the last show on David Gilmour's 2006 On an Island tour and was the only concert on which David performed the tour material with an orchestra, using the 40-strong string section of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Zbigniew Preisner, who was responsible for the On an Island album's orchestral arrangements. Please click the album cover above to view videos featuring songs from the DVD. Live in Gdańsk comes in many different sets fitting everyone's budget and can be purchased by clicking on the links below: 2CD: 3CD/2DVD: Other available formats are: 2CD/1DVD; 2CD/2DVD; and 5 Vinyl Boxset Live In Gdańsk is now available in Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Mexico, and Uruguay
